El próximo viernes, 08 de noviembre, tendremos un nuevo Seminario de la Semana. Keshavan Niranjan, Profesor de Bioprocesamiento de Alimentos en la Universidad de Reading (Reino Unido), impartirá un seminario titulado: "Reconceptualising Food Engineering for the 21st Century". El seminario comenzará a las 12:30 en el Salón de Actos del IATA. El seminario será impartido en inglés.

Sobre Keshavan Niranjan

Keshavan Niranjan is a Professor of Food Bioprocessing at the University of Reading, where he has been since October 1989 after completing post-doctoral research at the University of Cambridge. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology and the former President of the International Society of Food Engineering. He served as Editor of the Journal of Food Engineering from 2007 to 2019 and is currently a Subject Editor for the Food and Bioproducts Processing Journal. He has received several accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award (2016) and Distinguished Service Award (2019) from the International Association of Engineering and Food, and was elected a Fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology in 2020.

Professor Niranjan has authored over 150 peer-reviewed research papers, focusing on food processing and process engineering for health and the environment. His current research includes bubble-included foods, strategies to reduce fat uptake during frying, compostable packaging, high-pressure food processing, and methods for separating health-positive ingredients. He is dedicated to food engineering education, particularly in research and enterprise, and has supervised numerous externally funded projects in collaboration with the food industry and various funding agencies.
