"Next-Generation Sequencing for New Advances in the Use of Yeast of Biotechnological Interest", por el Dr.Javier Alonso del Real
Yeast, and in particular, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, are of the most importance in the field of biotechnology, and have been widely characterized in the last decades. However, with the development of the new technologies for nucleic acid sequencing, the knowledge of their biology has been triggered to a new dimension, where strain specific traits took a main role. In this talk, few examples of how this can be useful to the management of industrial processes and the organisms that take part in them will be assessed.
El Dr. Javier Alonso del Real es Doctor en Biomedicina y Biotecnología por la Universidad de Valencia desde el año 2019. Desde entonces, es investigador postdoctoral en el laboratorio de la Dra. Amparo Querol en el IATA, participando en diferentes proyectos, como "MeMBRaNE", dentro del programa ERACoBiotech. Su principales intereses han estado centrados en formarse en las últimas técnicas relacionadas con la secuenciación masiva del ADN y el ARN para estudiar el comportamiento de las levaduras industriales.
