The Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) has selected the Company Transfer and Valorisation Project BIOPRED, led by Dr. Yolanda Sanz, from the Microbial Ecology, Nutrition and Health Group, and two Strategic Projects in Cooperation with Industry, VALUÒS and BIOCLEAN, led by Drs. Amparo López, from the Packaging Group, and Julio Polaina from the Molecular Engineering of enzymes Group, respectively.
A new functional ingredient capable of reducing the risk of diseases such as diabetes (BIOPRED project), obtaining new food ingredients of interest to the industry through the use of waste from the same sector (VALUÒS project), or the development of new cleaning and disinfection products biotechnology-based against pathogens in the clinical and agri-food environment (BIOCLEAN), will be the objectives of these projects.
