Mª Dolores Rodrigo, scientific researcher at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology, participates as an expert in the Girls4 STEM project, an initiative of the University of Valencia.
Girls4STEM is a project aimed at promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) vocations, especially among girls, through the organization of outreach activities.
The spirit of the project is participatory and inclusive, so the first great value of the project is the pre-university students: primary, secondary, high school and training cycles.
It aims to show what people working in the STEM areas do every day. For this reason, Mª Dolores Rodrigo has received a visit from the school to the IATA facilities to show them first-hand what their tasks are and to tell them what is being researched at this centre.
In addition, Mª Dolores went to Colegio Pio XII and has been interviewed by the students in order to know in more detail her whole career at a personal level, how her career has been throughout all these years and how she continues to work in it.
All the participating centres are preparing audiovisual material that reflects the experience of the project and it will be screened next March 7th at a public event in the Botanical Garden.
