The solution presented by Isaac Benito, from the IATA start-up company Aerofybers, wins one of the challenges presented at the 2nd Blue Deal Business Forum

The solution from Aerofybers, a Technology-Based Company (EBT) from IATA, from the Packaging Group and led by researchers Isaac Benito and Amparo López, has emerged as the winning project of the challenge "Exploring the Potential of Converting Washed-up Seagrass (Posidonia Banquettes) into Biofuel", launched by the Municipality of Larnaka (Cyprus) in the "Open Innovation Challenge" of the second edition of the "Blue Deal Business Forum".
The Blue Deal Business Forum is a European forum that "aims to publicize and analyze the situation and future of Blue Energy, clean marine energy, as well as to generate regional and transnational alliances to integrate them into current policies in this field". As part of this Forum, an "Open Innovation Challenge" is organized, an open innovation contest organized together with companies and institutions to launch challenges that promote the use of marine renewable energies in the Mediterranean.

In this second meeting, organized by the European Center for Innovative Companies in Valencia, 80 projects were presented by more than 30 European companies to the 12 proposed challenges.
