Pilar Mateo, president of the Inesfly foundation, gave a talk at IATA on the occasion of International Women's Day

On March 8, Dr. Pilar Mateo, president of the foundation Inesfly Corporation gave a lecture at IATA in an event organized jointly by IFIC and IATA, on the occasion of the commemoration of International Women's Day.

Pilar Mateo holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Valencia and from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). It is among the 10 most prestigious scientists in Spain and among the top 100 worldwide. She has focused her activity on developing different types of high technology products based on a microencapsulation technique of her invention. She is internationally known for having designed and patented a microencapsulated polymer with various chemical components capable of successfully combating various arthropods that transmit endemic diseases such as dengue, malaria or Chagas disease (in many countries this technology is known as "painting that saves lives").

She is a humanitarian scientist. She firmly believes that science should be at the service of society. Her professional activity has focused on the development and application of new technologies to eradicate deadly diseases that are spread by poverty. At the same time, Pilar Mateo has carried out numerous social projects to improve the quality of life of impoverished communities.
