CSIC NEWSLETTER DEDICATES THE MONTH REPORT TO THE IATA PACKAGING GROUP

The current Packaging Group has its antecedent in the work on metal packaging started in 1970 by Ramón Catalá, after completing his doctoral thesis, on the initiative of the then IATA director, Primo Yúfera. In those years, the tinplate container was practically the reference container for canning, along with a small percentage of glass containers. Plastics were still being used for many different purposes, but not in the field of canning.
